This role will providing marketing expertise for the following two hotels:
Sheraton Melbourne Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton| Melbourne| Docklands.

Overview:

The Complex Marketing Manager creates and executes property-level
communications to our customers. Under the leadership of the Complex Director
of Sales & Marketing| this role promotes on-brand messaging to customers
through traditional| digital| and social media channels all with the goal of
enhancing the image of both hotels.

Job Description:

Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to execute all marketing activities that maximize awareness and revenue for the Marriott International and maintain the annual Sales and Marketing strategy plan.

Partners with Operations| Food & Beverage and Sales teams to execute promotions and campaigns to target in-house guests with promotions that drive incremental revenue to the hotel.
Manage the online marketing function of the Hotel website| uploading of special offers page| monitoring of third party and competitor websites to source new marketing opportunities
Facilitates social media engagement and updating content in local digital channels
Coordinate media| editorial and photo opportunities with local media contacts to promote the Hotel.
Coordinate and liaise with advertising agencies for the development of all accommodation and food and beverage advertisements and strategic placement.
Communicate brand initiatives and monitor all areas of the Hotel adhere to brand standards.
Maintain the Hotel media database| with particular emphasis on food critics and bloggers.
Write media releases and monitor media clippings in order to reach media impressions goals.

Requirements:

Similar marketing experience within a 4 or 5 star hotel
Tertiary qualified| marketing focus a distinct advantage

CANDIDATE PROFILE – Education and Experience –

•2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration|
Marketing| Hotel and Restaurant Management| or related major;

•2years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area
(OR) 4-year bachelor|s degree in Business Administration| Marketing| Hotel and
Restaurant Management| or related major; no work experience required.

Location

Surrounded by lush tropical gardens and sparkling blue lagoons| Sheraton Grand
Mirage Resort| Gold Coast comprises of approximately 295 guest rooms| four
award winning restaurants and bars| and a luxurious spa retreat| all in an
absolute beachfront environment.

Department

To source| secure and maximize all localized Gold Coast MICE| catering and
group opportunities. Manage reactive enquiries for all states as delegated by
Sales Manager| become a proficient acquisition tele marketer for the sales
department. Become a champion of local sourcing for group business & catering
opportunities.

The Sales Executive will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous|
safe and efficient manner| in accordance with the hotel’s policies and
procedures| ensuring that a professional and high level of service is
maintained.

Job Description

Completely understand| implement and ensure adherence to Local Labor Laws and Marriott International policies.

Be well versed and knowledgeable of Fire and Evacuation procedures as well as health and safety requirements in the Workplace. Ensure associates are aware of their duty of care as determined by legislation and that they maintain complete familiarity.

Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation immediately it occurs are notify staff of potential danger.

Develop an awareness of| and appreciation for| the richness of the cultural diversity of your clients| staff and location.

Sales & Communication

Develop a local Sales action plan to target new acquisition MICE/Social/Group accounts within local Gold Coast region. Work closely with Sales Manager (QLD) on retention accounts| plus look to target new acquisition business.

Pro-actively source new RFP opportunities within local market| supported by internet-based search activities. Identify existing conferences with Australian market which can be targeted for future| via internet.

Develop and execute a local Day Business activation plan which assist the hotel to increase short lead meetings & events.

Work closely with Sales Manager to become proficient at quoting| negotiating and contracting of interstate MICE opportunities| as required.

Establish a regular local market call schedule to ensure that all new & repeat business receives regular hotel updates & offers.

Quote & convert small meetings & events quotes (under 50 Rooms)| seek guidance from Sales Managers’ as required. Manage reactive enquiries for all states as delegated by Sales Manager.

Pro-actively tele market new & existing database on behalf of Sales Manager with the aim to secure appointments of commercial opportunities for hotel.

Research new business| analyze and evaluate companies which could turn into a prospect lead. Liaise with Sales Manager on a weekly basis.

Develop local catering/meeting offers in conjunction with Director of Event Management and ensure local market distribution is managed accordingly.

Ensure key stakeholders within hotel are kept informed of weekly activities| via reporting and sales plans.

Work closely with Marketing Executive to ensure that digital/social media strategy supports sales plan for local market.

Ensure a focus on all Hotel facilities including rooms| food and beverage and catering always.

Maintain records of client sales activities and follow-up and ensure appropriate data is updated into OPERA/CI/TY for proposals and contracts.

Provide sales administration support to Sales manager as required.

Work towards monthly budgets and report progress every week against targets in the GRC Sales meetings.

Requirements

We are looking for a proven performer in a fast paced| high volume and
challenging role. Strong leadership skills| Sales experience| creative flair
and excellent organisational skills are essential. To be successful in this
challenging and rewarding role you will have previous experience in a
Managerial role within a 4 or 5 star hotel/resort.
